Pop Quiz All:
The little white signs on the highways that show two cars beside each other, and a big red circle with a diagonal line means what? Correct Answer - Passing NOT allowed!!
So why is that concept so floopin hard to understand?? If you come to an area on ohh let's say Number 1 highway in Grand Valley, there are Signs showing it as a construction zone, lowered speed limit (80 km/h) and NO PASSING, so why.. WHY? are there lower forms of humanity out there that think those signs aren't for them? I guess they've never been, or cared about someone that is working near that deathtrap of a highway... As someone that has had to run from a crapstorm on the highway, believe me when I say, following the rules would make us safer in a unsafe environment, despite your urges to remain the (well.. I can't say it) that you are!

Interesting. I just drove from Oak Lake and didn't see the lane closure to indicate it was a single lane through that construction zone. I am sure the person passing will be on eBrandon this morning to read this and realize their mistake. We see it everyday, red light runners, cell phone users, rolling stop signs, not stopping for pedestrians, etc. Call the RCMP to set up in that area. Have your health and safety officer set a truck with beacons set up to warn drivers.

Bright orange signs indicating construction in progress + no passing signs should be enough of a heads up.. If someone isn't paying attention for a quarter of a mile past all the signage, should they be driving? These are the same type of people that probably still blow past emergency vehicles (ambulances, fire trucks, police cruisers and Yes, even tow trucks) that are on the side of the highway still doing (let's be honest here) 120 km/hr. The link below, while not the official HTA, DOES show you the Section of the Act that I am basing my "beef" here on.

Ah, this is the well known "I don't want to be the last vehicle in the queue (line)" , I will overtake so they are now last, then slow down so they have to brake or drop back to give them the stopping distance they previously had.
Just bad inconsiderate drivers.

I am well aware of the link you posted. Instead of complaining here why not complain to the RCMP who are not enforcing it? Drive into Saskatchewan or Alberta signs all over about passing emergency vehicles. They even have stings with a tow truck and cruisers in front ready to pull people over.

I have seen the RCMP with vehicles pulled over in this area, but they can't always have a car sit here 24/7. Like everyone else they are understaffed, so I don't blame the police for not sitting in 1 construction zone, when they have much more area to patrol. My rant here is simply to question the intelligence or empathy of the drivers that roar through the area when there AREN'T police present.

Well as we all know the police have put out a request for additional service for the 5th year in a row. Nobody is wanting to work in the force anymore because of how some police get a bad rep and all of a sudden it's the entirety of police that get crapped on. There's no respect for what these men and women do to help.

You should see the people we have driving west on 1A towards Kemnay. Every day when I go home, I drive the posted limit, and every day, I get passed by a "speeder" driving a car/van/SUV/truck
(90 % of the time they drive a white colored vehicle, too, though, so at least i can predict who is going to do it!), and even get passed from time to time on the bend in the road. Plus, when I turn off on 117, people behind will pass me on the shoulder, right next to the sign that shows that there is to be no passing on the shoulder. It is unbelievable how many people refuse to follow the rules of the road and drive safely. It's only a matter of time until there is a bad accident out there. I've started driving another route home now just to avoid the absurdity.
