How long did it take you to obtain letter? Did you have to try lots of different alternatives before you were approved? Why didn’t other therapies work for you, side effects? Suggestions?

You can go on Manitoba health and look up which steps (which drugs) you have to try and not be successful at before being approved for EDS.

Yes I was aware where to find the information, thank you for your reply. I’m looking to hear from folks who have gone through this and we’re successful being approved for biologics. Specifically how long it took and how difficult it was for their specialist to prescribe.

The medication i needed was going to cost $20,000 a year so they made me try everything cheap first even though the specialist of 25 years said upfront they would all fail. I had to jump through the hoops so some fat suit with no medical training could rubber stamp my right to a quality of life.  
 
The process was ramping up 3 dmards until i was on maximum dose of 3 seperate dmards. This took 6 months. The medications caused all my levels to go out of whack and the response was to add more meds to cover up the side effects of the other meds. Once i satisfied this bullshit process, i was given the ok to move to a biologic and it it solved 99% of my issues overnight.
