Johnbisonbear said "buffer zones for fire pits! Can't even have windows open when one of those are lit. "
If its enough of a bother to you contact the fire dept.
That said when the last time the weather was calm enough to have a fire with zero wind at all. Just putting it out there it's an option for you.
As per the fire pit permit:
Requirements for the Use of All Outdoor Burning Appliances
1. Fire shall be supervised at all times. 2. Shall not be used indoors or on balconies. 3. Material which may be burned shall consist only of seasoned wood or charcoal.
4. If smoke from a fire causes an unreasonable interference to another person’s property, the fire shall be extinguished immediately. 5. All appliances shall be located on a flat, level and non-combustible base clear of overhangs such as roofs, tree branches, and utility wires. 6. All appliances require a minimum 1.5 m (5’) clearance from any property line, building or other combustible structure/material.
