been on the river a couple of times. The first time was extremely low (2-3' just west of the 18th st. bridge in the center). But went about 3wks ago for another paddle and it has come up considerably with all the rain. There's the normal spots like inside of the curves that are still and always low, but I went from Dinsdale to Kirkaldy and all was good (first run in the low water was QE - Dinsdale and I thought we were going to get stuck half way out at QE). Zero current to the point where it will actually push you back upstream with the wind.
I think the only place in town to go to is Stream and Woods and they don't really rent, but I know last year they had demo day Thursdays at the turtle crossing place. But I tried to rent last year for a week and no one would. They are on sale at Canadian Tire for pretty cheap....but they're pretty cheap (and crappy) and for a couple extra bucks you can get a good one at Stream and Woods.
