It's probably some kid getting paid 0.002 cents per flyer delivered.  
 
I wouldn't read too much into it. Just makes the bin a little heavier.

Maybe they wanted to see if they could win you over to their team?

Just for your information, I have worked many campaigns at all levels of government and all voters regardless, if the voter has a sign up for another party or person the other still drop of information. This is because there may be another person in the home voting for another candidate. A sign is just a sign. How would the other candidates know, if the whole household is voting for candidate on the sign. I have had many signs as well and still recieve information on the other candidates. Just use the recycling bin.

that's one excuse! I can remember when sdh was going for her second term and we had a Chrest sign, one of her volunteers was going to enter my yard and said to me 'I just seen your sign' I thanked her very much. for passing by.

I work for Canada Post (we handle flyers and such) and we’ve actually been told that if any flyers are related to the government or even elections in town, we have to deliver one to every mailing address, regardless of requests. We get quite a few upset customers about this but unfortunately we are just trying to do our jobs.

Our entire family made an epic change in the party we have always voted for so I hardly doubt that I am the reason why as you say ' a pot of potatoes gets elected'.

No, it's about showing a bit of respect, stay out of my yard when you can clearly see I am voting for a different candidate than you are working for.  
But what do you know about respect when you think you can park/block people's driveways eh??  
There is a lack of respect in the world these days.

Canada Post delivered our political flyers. They can’t pick and choose addresses for delivery. Besides not everyone at an addresses votes for the same person.

Canada post is delivering the flyer then they are required to put one in every mailbox. The person is not supposed to pick and choose which houses get which flyer I too fail to see the need to get worked up over a flyer in the mailbox, no matter what signage is in the yard. Toss it in the rrcycle bin and forget about it. I would not call it disrespect-the poor guy/gal was just doing their job. About the time they started picking which house gets what, someone would be angry because they didnt get the information-"the sign in the yard is my wife's idea, I am voting for a different party and wanted to see their information"

Same. As quickly as I can. Conservatives threw this province into the trash.

So much drama over a piece of paper. Goodness me, people. It's not like the Amazon is on fire, or anything like that . . .  
 
No signage on my property. Mainly because it's a multi-apartment residence. But even if I did live in a single dwelling home with an election sign, I wouldn't be bothered by opposing flyers.  
 
I like the "How am I/are we doing?" flyers that the conservatives send every once in a while. I give them an honest account of how I feel about their performance. Judging by the fact that they have never EVER gotten back to me, I've deduced that they don't like criticism . . .

this is what you're wanting to spend your energy on? being mad because someone dropped a flyer in your mailbox. you mention lack of respect these days, where is your respect for people doing their job? i like to believe it goes both ways. i think there are many other positive/productive ways to spend your energy on than a piece of paper.

Now I am going to type this real slow so you can understand.....  
I have an election sign in the yard for who I am going to vote for, even though that candidate knows I will be voting for them they knocked on my door twice. An opposing candidate walked right past in broad daylight and never bothered to try and talk to me, from a party I voted for for most of my life. The next week some young lady dropped off a flyer in my mailbox and no one blocked my driveway (It's not my fault delieveryman cannot remember his past posts) lol  
I would prefer no other party's flyers, when I get a sign in the yard to me it says 'No Go Zone' for the other parties, end of!

sounds like you are making a big deal over nothing.  
 
Its called "campaigning" for a reason. Dropping a flyer off in a mail box to ensure information of all eligible candidates are considered is no way disrespecting the sign you put on your yard.  
 
Just because you would feel uncomfortable, doesn't mean you can get mad about someone doing there job, then make a post on online about it, to then look for supporters in your complaining.  
 
I think most of Brandon would agree that it's easier to just throw it in the garbage, then to stir the pot and come back at people commenting things like "i am going to type real slow"

Do you have a spouse? Do you have adult children living with you?  
 
In my household, we have TWO signs.. one PC, one NDP, because we have TWO voters living in the same house who vote differently.  
 
How is a flyer dropper to know that your household is unanimously voting for one party?

While I don't believe this perceived transgression would, for me, rise to the level of disrespect as identified by the OP, I strongly support anyone's right to get bent out of shape over whatever they choose.
