Every morning about 9 theres a massive line up at the south end timmies drive through. Id the line up is so long that your on the street blocking traffic maybe park your vehicle and go inside!!

that is what a drive thru is for, so you don't have to park and go inside.

But I think the point the OP is making is that it would be faster, and probably more environmentally friendly as you're not sitting there idling.

Sounds like it’s around the time a lot of parents have just dropped their kids off at school, then headed to get their Tim’s. I don’t know about them, but half the time I did that (drove my kids to school then went to get my coffee), I wasn’t dressed to go in. I could’ve been in my nightgown, pj pants, and 90% of the time had no bra. Drive thru was my only option, so I personally didn’t care how long the drive thru line was. I paid more attention to getting my kids ready and on their way, and was just going back home after anyway.  
Point is, who knows what kind of morning those waiting in drive thru had, and may not have had time to make themselves public worthy. Cause we’d sure hear about it on here if a mom in her bathrobe, pj’s, etc, was waiting in line in the restaurant.

Doesnt give people the right to block traffic

it is not faster - the line up may look long - but look at the types of vehicles in the line up. All trucks and SUV's and they knew that when it was built. That is why the extra lane there.  
 
Unfortunately, blocking traffic can come from any drive through at any business. They would never have designed it to intentionally block traffic.  
 
I tend to just drive through one of the parking lots if I see it like that - no biggy.

As lengthy as the drive through may look, I have found it’s much faster than going inside. Cashiers at the front are incredibly slow and often “in training”

How are you blocking traffic? You are traffic waiting to turn. Nobody is just sitting in the middle of the road for giggles. As for going inside, most of the time it is worse. Line up all the way to the door and sometimes out the door. Then what? People blocking the door entrance....maybe they should go through the drive through instead?

Just make your damn coffee at home. And before anyone comes up with an excuse: 1) most coffee pots have a program function that allows you to make it whenever it’s convenient for you, so get it ready the night before then set it and forget it (who knew in this day and age): 2) at least $10 a week could accumulate into your wallet/purse/bank account: 3) you can stay in your pj’s 4) you don’t have to wait in those “long lines blocking traffic”. Or you can keep doing what you’re doing and complain to the rest of the world. Do what you want. It’s just a suggestion.

I have never and will never understand why so many people grab coffee daily at places like these when it's so easy and cheap to do it at home.  
 
When I drink Timmie's or McDonald's coffee it's when I am out with friends for a visit or out out town. It's a great then.  
 
Someone please tell me why, why, why do you need to go daily to Timmie's?

Sorry, when I go through drive-through I have my 4 month old baby in the back seat. I'm not lugging the car seat inside to stand in line, then trying to juggle the car seat and baby along with a coffee and my food.

Is what the drive thru is supposed to be about. Every Tim Hortons plans the drive thru themselves. It sure isn’t very convenient for anyone going in the area without any plan to get coffee. They have traffic backed up in all locations, not caring about the consequences to all the drivers.It is apparent that as long as they get the business, they really don’t care about the aggravation their lack of better planning is causing. Just my opinion.

Isn’t there supposed to be another Tim’s/gas station built on the corner of 1st and Richmond? Maybe this will alleviate some of the long line ups at Tim’s south.

Blocking the street? It's not a street. The whole place is a parking lot. It's private property.  
 
That said, we need another Timmies...oh wait, we're getting one. Really, if you get out of your car and go inside, the line-up is usually out the door too. Sometimes, you just can't win.

Something to think about : Your morning coffee is more important than dressing semi- respectfully. If you were in a motor vehicle accident and it was bad enough to have your car immobilised and a tow truck had to be called you would look quite sweet standing on the street in your ratty old night gown with nothing on your feet and no bra. I am sure everyone concerned would enjoy the free show !!!

First I’m not sure why there’d be nothing on my feet? I always wear shoes when driving. And if I’m in an accident well what I’m wearing is my least concern. And I never said my nightgowns are ratty... just not something I’d personally wear into a store just cause there is a lineup of cars. But in the case of an accident, my pjs aren’t too flashy, so I’m not too worried. And people aren’t up close breathing down your neck on the side of the road, as they are in the lineup. Bra thing would only be noticeable in the line up, not side of the road! Mom always taught me to wear clean underwear though in case of an accident, lol!  
And getting the kids fed, dressed and out the door before first bell were the main concern, coffee second! The health wasn’t so good at times, so fighting to get them going was more important than dressing up for a possible accident. But those days are over for me, kids are grown, and I make my own coffee now. Was just pointing out why I used drive thru instead of going in, at that time of day for many years. Have a great night.

No harm taken. I’ll get you to read my second message I posted after someone else mentioned an “accident”. Just to clarify, my pj’s in my reference are covering my body, not holey, not too short, I was always wearing shoes/boots, and I ALWAYS have my wallet with me carrying ID. I’m just saying, I didn’t want to head in wearing fuzzy snowwhite pants (that cover more than leggings FYI), a long nightgown (not ratty) , or big hoodie over those crazy patterned pjs. As for the bra... men don’t wear them and some need them. I’m not too worried about the bra.  
Personally I would wear these things into anywhere for that matter especially dealing with things I dealt with back then. But then I’d be headline in somewhere like here about putting effort into appearance, nobody wants to see my pj pants, etc and bla bla . So drive thru it was. Nobody knows what battles that person faced that morning! Make sense?!

Robins isn’t lined up. Go there instead. It would be nice to see another business supported besides Tim’s. I would hate to see them go out of business and then we wouldn’t have as many choices in Brandon.

I guess people are addicted to Tim Hortons coffee.  
Not me, i can't drink it, i prefer McDonalds coffee over Timmies.

I read somewhere Robin's had closed.  
 
I just went to look for the story and can't find it, but it was one of the local sites to get news on.

Their coffee (or maybe the cream in it)was hard on my stomach. I went once and never again.  
 
I had a breakwich and I saw them throw it in the microwave to warm it before giving it to me.  
 
I am not sad about this closure.

Yes the line ups are bad

Somewhat sad to hear about Robin's closing down, if it is permanent. I can't really say I'm surprised though. It never seemed very busy, at least not when I was there. There wasn't really much parking and I didn't like leaving my car where I can't see it from inside, one reason I didn't go there more often. I liked their food for the most part, but I was also disappointed with the microwaved breakfast sandwich and their coffee always seemed a little on the weak, wattery side, to me anyway. I remember talking with one of their staff and being told about how much damage, vandalism, was being done to the restaurant, especially the washrooms.

Just getting a new hot water tank is all.
