I live in a town with no paved roads. I enjoy walking my dogs, on leashes, and they also enjoy it. The downfall is there are people who don't believe in slowing down to avoid kicking up rocks and dust. These rocks coming off a fast moving wheel do hurt. All I ask is for a little consideration and slow down. It seems the worst offenders and company trucks that are in a hurry for something.

Call the companies. Most places have safe driving programs and the drivers will be tuned in. And/or get plate numbers and call the RCMP. I know in some cities you can be charged for splashing water on pedestrians: this should fall under the same heading.

can be such idiots when driving, they can at the very least give a lot of room, especially when walking dogs!  
 
As for the splashing of water? A couple of years ago some young man drove full speed thru a pool of water and it came into my passenger side open window. Phoned the cops and they did squat about it.

If they are in a town with no paved streets the speed is what 50km/hr? Now unless my employee was speeding there isn't much I would say to my workers driving. Are they purposely swerving to kick up rocks and dust? I would recommend what I see a lot of people do here is walk toward oncoming traffic. Also if there are dust and rock issues have to talked to your local reeve or mayor about putting down some dust control like calcium?

The speed is greater than 50kp/h. When rocks come off wheels at higher speed they have enough force to crack windshields, now can you imagine taking a rock to the face or to the face of a dog, now pretty. I have been hit with rocks off the tires and they do hurt a bit but I guess I have been lucky so far. All I am asking is for a little consideration from drivers when passing pedestrians is to reduce your speed. I slow down greatly when I see someone walking as the dust is bad but the bits flying can cause injury.

Employees are proven to be driving without consideration of other road users you fire them. Simple.

The op is just saying to slow down when passing people so they don’t get sprayed with flying stones and rocks. If drivers would just have common sense and respect, there would be no need to report anyone. It’s just the right thing to do. No big drama needed

Are they moving over or driving in what would be their lane per say? There is a thing called consideration but at the same time if they are not speeding or driving erratically although it may suck for the pedestrian they do have the right to be on the road doing the speed limit. Not saying it’s ok to dust or rock out a walker but as long as they aren’t driving to close to you and not breaking the law I don’t understand why they would be reported? It’s a courtesy not a crime.

What were you expecting the cops to do?
