Anyone else notice the lowest of low flying jets about a half hour ago over the South end of the city headed West? We’ll get these topics from time to time but can’t say I’ve ever seen/heard/felt something quite so low to the point where it shook the house and got dog riled up! Worst pic ever but I gather it was likely a Hercules:

Yes Adam, it is a Herc. And indeed it was quite low. Just amazing to view the Herc from the west end.

Fingers crossed that it loops back... camera was massively over-exposed, but settings and the right lens are ready to rock now. Not that they arent around from time-to-time, but to photograph at that altitude would be fun!

Just one last bit of info for anyone thats curious since it looks like this post has had quite a few views. Had this PSA forwarded to me that had been circulated. As low as 500 feet above highest obstacle.... wow!

"Hercules airplane from 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron will be doing a flyby over Brandon on November 4, at approximately 10 a.m. for a No Stone Left Alone event. During the flyby, the aircraft will fly at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle in their path. Royal Canadian Air Force flybys are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure public safety at all times. Aircraft participation is subject to weather and operational requirements."

“No Stone Left Alone” is a great initiative by the students and their teachers. Congratulations also to the Canadian Armed Forces for their display to show the students how much their effort is valued.

Mabey not, but it looks like it was below the tops of the trees. Obviously in the open field.

Just a note tho. The C 130 is a Turboprop not a Jet.
