While I see the reason behind putting one at that end of the city is the rent in a mall location not quite high? While I do see the value of being able to access free books I just don’t know if that money is better suited elsewhere? Just a thought "
Library cards are available to individuals who reside within the physical boundaries of the City of Brandon, the Towns of Carberry and Neepawa, the Rural Muncipality of North Cypress-Langford, the Municipality of Glenboro South Cypress, and the Municipality of Grassland at no additional cost as Library service is i:ncluded in your property taxes.
No fee. Free.
Non-Resident Memberships:
Individuals who reside outside of the service area of the WMRL must pay a membership fee:
Three (3) month membership is $20.00/household
Twelve (12) month membership is $70.00/household
Non-Resident Taxpayer memberships are $17.50/individual. This type of membership requires proof of payment of property taxes to one of the member communities of the WMRL.
In my personal opinion books at Value Village are way over priced if you are not getting them on 50% off days - you would be able to get 3 maybe 4 books at VV for the price of a 3 month membership at the library which offers you WAY more than just books.
I have also heard about the rent at the mall being a little out of hand but I don't know facts or the inner workings of any deals or anything so I won't comment.
