Just wanted to give a big thanks to Ryan and Staff at Sobeys 18th for the wonderful job they are doing in keeping the store organized during this pandemic. From the greeters at the front door, (only allowing a certain number into the store at one time) to the sanitizing of the carts when you enter the store, to the arrows on the floor for keeping customers going in one direction, to enforcing the 6 ft social distancing rule. I am sure that all the extra work the staff has to do above and beyond their normal work routine is helping everyone feel at least somewhat safer when they have to venture out to do a grocery shop. Keep up the good work and Kudos to everyone at this Sobeys location. Thanks again. You have definitely shown great leadership in these trying times!

Same with the staff at the west end location, keeping things nice and organized and being a little smaller its really easy to get through the store get what you need and get out. I also hear their curb side pick up is great! you line up with your car and they call your name and pop your trunk, they load it, no contact walh! i do think it would help them out if you put a sign up on your window with the name you ordered under but whatever, they put a good system in place asap which other stores were slow to do  
 
Thinking Sobeys is the place to shop for me

I have been to another large grocery store in town and found that Sobeys has a very good and safe atmosphere.

Sobeys is doing a great job, and even have a Hand wash station as well! I know other stores with no sanitizer to be found anywhere. Definitely a great idea to have people wash/sanitize on the way in. The only think I don’t like is that Sobeys is still allowing reusable bags (the only store that I’m aware of that is still doing this). I don’t think it’s a great idea to drag reusable bags from store to store during this time, but hey, just my opinion.

The biggest issue with Sobeys no longer permitting the use of reusable bags is that folks would likely have to pay the $0.10 a bag or whatever it is to purchase the paper bags since they have done away with plastic. While I understand your perspective there is not much that can be done in that regard.  
 
Especially since there are other measures that we could take to make using reusable bags safer, like washing groceries that must be put away right away (eg milk jugs, produce) or letting groceries sit the 3 days it takes for the virus to denature on surfaces. I think as long as we are all conscious of what we are bringing into our homes, it'll be fine.

Being done at the stores I have had to go to. Everyone has pulled together to flatten the curve. I love my Coop and all the people involved there. Again, sanitizing stations, planned procedures to follow and still being helpful to everyone. We should all be proud of the way the stores have organized things in such a short amount of time. Nobody asked for this to happen, no one is enjoying it, but thank god we are in a country that stepped up to the plate in record time to control this damn virus.

Not allowed to bring reusable bags? Did you mean the ones they sell at the store?

Last I knew, you could bring them but you had to bag your groceries yourself. The cashiers aren't the touch them at all.

Sobeys is still allowing the reusable bags. I didn’t take some two weeks ago and they reminded me that i am still allowed to bring them. I brought them on Monday, and there was no problem and they bagged for me. My bags go directly to the washing machine to be washed, then sanitized, right after I’m done washing the groceries, then I hang them to dry. They have mentioned though that some people’s bags are quite disgusting so maybe those ones they will definitely make you bag them yourselves?  
Clean your bags people.  
Oh and yes, Kudos to Sobeys west for doing such an amazing job!! Love the hand washing station, etc! Would love to see that even after all this.
