Green bin

Our green bin did not get picked up here in the south end. Pretty sure it was suppose to start this week. Anyone know why?

They just picked up the green bins on my street. There must be equipment issues again.

has cut down on staff. Perhaps this is why the trucks are latter.

Live in the ValleyView area I have no idea what they did half the green bins got picked up a day late other half appear to still be full sitting out.

really cut down on staff they just didn't call back seasonal workers. That probably would not affect the sanitation department.
I did notice that our bins were emptied by hand into one of the older style of garbage trucks that were filled from the back so I am going to guess that there was issues with the trucks breaking down.
Felt bad for the workers having to hand bomb the bins into the trucks so hope that the other trucks get fived ASAP!

All seasonal staff that were still working got laid off, including me. I still haven't got called back yet.

I didn't realize that you are a seasonal worker. I know you do work for streets and roads plowing in the winter.
Haven't you worked for the city for numerous years?
What would you be doing for seasonal work in the spring and summer?

and luckily with my seniority, haven't been laid off since 2012. I'm still classified as a casual labourer. Right now I would likely be a part of the sweeping crew. And there is no word as to when I will be called back.
