Unacceptable in my opinion and there needs to be fines in this case otherwise your just opening the flood gates. Everyone has had the rules drilled into their heads for months now and still they willingly broke those rules. If others follow suit we will end up like Florida. Yikes!

this happens every day in day cares and schools because people will not stay home to look after a sick child.

If my kid even gets the sniffles at daycare now they'll send them home. Pre-covid it happened a lot because it was usually just a cold.

According to this report they also went into the US. So not only left the province, they left the country, came into contact with a known case, didn’t self isolate and then went to retail places with symptoms. Must be fined and made an example of. Otherwise Mr. tough talking Premier Pallisters words are just a waste of time.

why aren't these people being fined?  
 
After all people have had to keep separate from loved ones, no funerals to say a proper farewell. Who are these people who flouted the rules and can get away with doing so?

It’s disappointing that they haven’t been fined yet. Especially since they know who they are and what they have done.

the news where a winnipeg man who refused to wear a mask on a flight received a fine, so Public Health, what gives? Why no fine for those two people?

We don’t know what other factors are at play. Perhaps he is mentally ill and off his meds? Maybe there is another issue? Alzheimer’s is one example. This happened in a small town so perhaps he wasn’t charged because public opinion is punishing him and the family already. Let’s not be so quick to condemn.

As always we now see a political angle on a WORLD pandemic that no one has the perfect answer to. What is being done within Canada has been agreed to by all parties with Canada being one of the countries showing documented proof we are on the right track. While I hold no preference or political stripe (they all suck) I see everyone in the world having to deal with fallout from a disaster never seen in our lifetime and far from over so really placing faults with one or another party or people in government both federally or provincially is a bit premature.  
But hey I guess we all need something to fill our days with till life gets sorted out and we can get on with life.

I've seen vehicles with Minnesota and North Dakota plates driving down Hwy 2. How is this possible? Got a good look at the driver and passengers and they were not here for business.

We are all concerned about this. How many people are walking around with the virus and are scared to go get tested because of the stigma. We don’t know whether this family has food in the house for example. Or whether they had any other options to get food. But in a small town, it was like a reported because someone knew someone that knew they had it. What about people of Brandon in a community where we don’t know who has it? I think the safest bet is that we always treat everyone that we encounter as if they do have covid-19 as well as follow the provincial guidelines about safe distancing and handwashing . We all have an obligation to protect ourselves and those around us. Too many people are not taking this pandemic seriously. Just look to the United States to see where complacencies have gotten them. It’s only a matter of time if we ALL don’t take this seriously.

I don't recall hearing anything bad about the people at Paul's hauling that contracted it. They did the best they could to limit any spread and all isolated as soon as they knew. They followed the rules. This couple went to AB and the US and sounds like they didn't isolate when they came back and went to public places when they had symptoms. It's not that they contracted the virus, people are going to get it until there is a vaccine, it is the fact that they didn't follow the rules to reduce the opportunity for it to spread. If people don't get tested when they have symptoms then we will be in trouble. You maybe can't help that you catch it, but can help to not make it worse.

There are people who are more susceptible to getting sick. And unfortunately they cannot afford to get delivery when they are well.  
 
I went to the doctor to get a annual shot and ended up very sick. I thought I had COVID. I got tested, thankfully I was negative. But I stayed home for about 3 1/2 weeks until I was better because it was the right thing to do.  
 
I don't go out much anymore because people don't respect boundaries. Got coughed on by a lady.. not impressed. Like right in my face while she had to reach in front of me while I was looking at something.  
 
I'm not a germaphobe but there is things such as personal space.

There is one word to describe public health protocol violators and that is selfish. Why are their names not being published? When your choices put other people's lives at risk and affect the livelihoods of business owners and employees you should be publicly shamed as well as fined. Some countries are going so far as to lay criminal charges.

it is a sad commentary, people would show no regard for other peoples health. Obvious they don't care.

getting tested and there should definitely be no stigma in catching the virus. It is highly contagious people!  
 
But you are right, the people in question did wrong in not self isolating. The diner, i think called JTs was having enough financial hardship from being forced to close and then bam! At the center of attention because someone with covid who had symptoms at the time of their visit to said diner. Yes the government should level a fine!
