Judging from what I am reading on social media and hearing from, well, everyone, there are way too many people against sending their children back into the public school system in this current environment. The risks are way too high. The risk of long term health problems, the risk of outbreak surge causing the hospital system to become overwhelmed (flattening the curve is still our primary goal as a society) and most importantly the risk of death.
There is absolutely no reason in the world why Manitoba cannot offer remote learning as an alternative to in-class studies. There is absolutely no reason that the choice is being taken away from the parent by a politician who, let's be honest here, does not have the best interest of your child in mind.
There is a reason that Pallister has the third lowest approval rating among premieres in the country as stated in today's Brandon Sun. He has done absolutely nothing to financially assist Manitobans (the only premiere who has not) which would give the parents the opportunity to stay home with their children, nor has he even allowed the option of remote learning to be considered. I am curious if his grandchildren are in the public school system.
Let me be clear....Palister does not care about the well-being of your children or your family. Pallister is an elected official who is enjoying the privilege of his position at the expense of his constituents but who is doing absolutely nothing to assist them during this time. Here is a link providing the contact info for his office. Since we are not in a position to demonstrate in Winnipeg contacting him via e-mail or phone is the next best thing.

This is the person to express your concerns to. I have left two messages and have zero expectation from hearing back but perhaps if he feels his job security is at risk he may be forced to provide remote learning as an option.....every single other premiere has.
