Hi Just wondering if there is a commercial courier that goes to Border Shipping services in Dunseith, ND, USA to pick up business and personal packages to bring back to Brandon. I know there is RunninRed in Winnipeg that takes parcels to a warehouse on Regent Ave in Winnipeg. Would love to have a service like that out in our neck of the woods if there isn't one already. Let me know if anyone knows of something. Thanks

Good luck. Far too much risk and liability in something like that. Would you really want to bring something across the border that you have no idea what really is in there for a practical unknown stranger?? No thanks.. Not sure how running red does it, assuming it's a volume and maybe likely well known commercial businesses using it? However I don't know. You could try A.D. Rutherford in Boissevain they are a broker that clears customs for you maybe they would have an idea.

I don't know of any, but if you find out please let me know! I'm not sure if that would still be running at this time due to border closures.

I know it would have to be a commercial transport company to be able to cross the border I believe during Covid time. It would be interesting to know how busy Runnin Red is. Maybe they should expand to offer a daily trip from Brandon to Dunseith & back if they had somewhere to store parcels in Brandon. I think a lot of people would use it for picking up their US parcels during Covid and after.  
Speaking to Big Mack, I don't know how liability would work for companies picking up other people's illegal things and transporting them across the border unknowingly. I am guessing it would be similar to Canada Post or Purolator or FedEx transporting their customers same illegal packages across the border unknowingly.

Just out of curiosity what are you willing to pay for such a service? Are you willing to pay $25-30 a package? Because that is likely what such service would cost. Nobody is going to do it for the $5 Jay charges at Border Services. If possible it would likely be better off to get whatever it is your buying shipped to Canada at an additional cost but yes I realize some companies don't ship to Canada so in those cases you'd be out of luck.  
 
And no Canada Post (which is also Purolator) or FedEx is not the same as a company bringing illegal stuff across the border. But hey if your willing to make a declaration and bring random packages over the border for me for a fee let me know, I'll make it worth your while!

A courier cannot bring your random parcel across the border. There must be proper documentation etc. , for each shipment.

It does look like there is lots of documentation to fill out and I think they are getting paid well- but fairly for their services I believe.

I’d call border services I know of a person looking for automotive parts and enquired at border services in dunseith guy told them they don’t have anyone crossing to pickup parcels due to the border closure.

As a farmer I have been to bottineau 2x for parts , and minot 3x. That being said I wouldn’t pick up anything for someone else or pick up something that wasn’t essential. ( wouldn’t want to jeopardize my ability to cross border)I’m not going over to pick up groceries at bottineau Walmart, I go straight to where I pick up parts , they put in truck, only people I talk or see are the border guards. Not sure what your situation is but maybe you know a farmer / trucker who crosses occasionally.

So you can cross to get your parts because you are a business (farm)?

Yes, I can go across if it’s essential.

I have used Border Services many times as eBay shipping to Canada has just gotten stupid. With the border closed you might just have to eat the high shipping price and have your parcel delivered right to your door.
