Exasperated would be a fitting des:cription of my response...hardly verbally abusive or anonymous bullying. Just because you disagree with someone does not mean you are acting in a poor manor by saying so. As you were obviously referring to me please show me where I insulted this person, called them names, yelled etc. No? That's because I disagreed with the post, not the poster.
That said, in any given situation, one has a choice of being part of the problem or part of the solution. Nine times out of ten, a poster will start a thread to complain but will have done absolutely nothing to rectify it. What is the point? This thread wasn't about getting info on or stating something. This was about the "disgust" of a group of people who the OP ASSUMED were publicly intoxicated, disregarding a Provincial mandate, unpurifying the beautiful ambience of THEIR "once clean, safe city".
Okay, if there is a large group of intoxicated people in downtown Brandon, there is only one group of people who can do anything about that. Do random eBrandonites have the authority to issue open liquor tickets, public intoxication fines, loitering, etc.? Of course not, but nowhere in the post was it stated that a proactive approach was taken. Complaining is not proactive. Neither is assuming. What if they were a group of people standing around outside near a bar because their neighboring business was running their bi-annual fire drill? Do you see my point?
As for the close proximity of the herd, that should be reported for the simple fact that it is a violation of the Provincial mandate and is putting countless people as well as the health care system at risk. The Southern Health district is going Red on Monday. As a community we need to work together and get this crisis under control, not assume and complain just to be heard. Again...part of the solution rather than part of the problem.
