I live in an apartment building and I am so disappointed about how many people I see walking in and out of here and down the hallways and in the laundry room without wearing masks although there are signs on the doors that it is mandatory in common areas. I was told by management there is nothing they can do. It is just so disappointing to see so many people who do not care about others who may pick up this virus and die from it.

Can a landlord come on to fix stuff in your apartment without wearing a mask?

No they can not.

Back in late April, I made a complaint to my property management about people not social distancing, people having guests over etc. I was told by the property management "...as per Residential Tenancies Branch, we can't force anyone to social distance. We have to assume our tenants will have common sense and practice safe social distancing." Hindsight suggests that there should of been a mask mandate back then. So it gets down to its not really enforceable unless one has a caretaker in the apartment. There might as well not have the rule if it is not enforceable and people try to use a bit of common sense.  
 
Atleast here, the only place where could 'gather' is by the main door and the mail box which is near the main door. I can see the point of wearing a mask there. Usually there's nobody hanging around the mail box or the hallways for that matter. Everybody is pretty much to themselves unless they are outside having a smoke or just socially visiting from a safe distance when taking the snow off their vehicles. By my suite is a door which goes down the stairs and eventually takes me to an outside door. There's only a couple of people (one is hardly around) and myself use it, mainly for taking out the garbage. So in theory, I could 'get away' of not wearing a mask if I use that door but I just put my mask on in case any there is a Karen's around'  
 
I know a couple of people had guests (meaning more then 2 people) here during Christmas. But how is one going to enforce 'the guidelines'.
