Hi, does anyone else currently have no water? I'm trying to figure out if my pipes are frozen or if the water has been shut off to accommodate the construction nearby.

If your line was frozen because your heat tape was off you should notify your water utility provider so they simply note your house as a potential risk for having a leak. This is incase they notice a water leak for your street they can come check you first. 90% of water leaks are caused by this exact situation, even a small leak under your home can cause a lot of damage and cost your utility provider thousands a month, maybe even more.

My heat tape was plugged in. I've had a heater underneath since. I need to install new heat tape, I bought some tonight and it is incredibly warmer than the old heat tape, when I plugged it in.  
 
Any suggestions as to who might install heat tape?

Robert hairsnape is the only guy you should let under your home. If you bought your heat from Home Depot or Canadian tire and not one from wolseley you could have a big problem if your not careful during install. The cheap ones from the hardware store will burn them selves out if it touches itself so you can’t double wrap sections. I have litterally seen them burn holes in insulation because the home owner took the cheapest price and had someone install it that had no clue what their doing. Tbh keep your receipt and return it, let robert or another plumber install the proper heat tape that they buy from wolseley

I have had no water going on my 4th day because of frozen pipes..I have a heat tape on it..he came up with 3 reaons what it might be..after all this it will finally be done today..not a happy camper..

For your suggestions. I hope everyone has sorted out their frozen pipes. :-)
