It is nice to see a small amount of stores that are still cleaning their stores as we are still in code red. As some stores are not cleaning as have been in a few that I haven’t seen them cleaning. People seem to be to relaxed we all need to wear our masks properly over your nose not under. Use the sanitizer at the door to every store wash your hands. As it seems the numbers are starting to climb again as look across our country. Some stores are still cleaning which I think is great. But some stores seem to have dropped the ball. Didn’t mention which stores so no names of stores.

One of the major changes that COVID has give the world is the way we look at store cleaning. I'm sure some stores are struggling with this transition in thinking.  
 
Pre-COVID, it was basically standard to treat cleaning staff as back of house, not to be seen, as it presented the store as a place that was dirty and needed to be clean. As consumers, we wanted that to be done before we got there, and after we left.  
 
Now, the standard has changed to have cleaners as front of house. Always seen, even if it's just busy work. Businesses want to show their patrons that the cleaning is being done, and it's a top priority.  
 
It's really interesting, and I think it's one of the features of the COVID world that we will retain. I know, personally, I get comfort in seeing shopping carts , etc being cleaned as they are used.  
 
Don't assume the cleaning isn't being done just because you don't see it, though. We never did before, and businesses are adapting in different ways.  
 
Agree with everything you said though. Wear your mask (properly), sanitize, mind your space, and be safe! Happy shopping.

One of the biggest annoyances I am seeing lately is some employees of stores who are ignoring the arrows. Those arrows are there to 'make everybody safe' if one is to believe that. So if employees are purposely ignoring the arrows, how could they expect their customers to obey and follow the arrows. Imagine what would happened if these same people drive the wrong way on Rosser and Princess Ave!  
 
Is there any real reason why they have to use scented hand sanitizer? There are people who can't handle anything scented. The last thing one needs is a person coughing in their own mask, have their eyes water etc.  
 
We all need to continue to do the basics. Don't loiter in the isles or answer your cellphone in the middle of the isle so nobody can get by you. Be nice to the til folks.

Does a great job....people at the front door monitoring carts, face masks, cleaning of the conveyer belt after each customer. A very clean store with caring employees.

When I am standing in line and can see the cash area and no cleaning is being done as the pin pads not wiped down and counter top not cleaned or belts not cleaned. Is what I was meaning. I have worked part time for several years as a cleaner also. Yes some stores are still doing a great job at cleaning and trying to keep their customers and staff safe. But again other stores seem like get you in and get your money. Some stores I have seen have removed the arrows on the floors. Not mentioning any names of stores good or bad. I find the smaller stores are still doing what they can with limited customers in stores and hand sanitizer by the opening to come in the store and cleaning after every customer.

Lines are and were always a horrible idea. Unless you are looking at your feet you aren't gonna see them.  
People are always going to walk which ever way they want to, and this whole having to walk around to go the right direction is ridiculous. Especially people that have issues walking in the first place it causes unnecessary walking. It causes other people to complain about not following the arrows and get angry or say things they normally wouldn't without them in the first place. It's turning everyone against each other from line or arrows on the floor to the damn masks not being worn properly. It's making society turn against everyone slowly and it's just crazy.  
 
Tell me how does this make people safer?

Scents are a trigger for me and migraines and I found a lot of the stores had really stinky ones. So I bought a large bottle of spray hand sanitizer made in Canada, off of Amazon and I bought mini spray bottles and filled them up. I have them in many coat pockets, my purse, the van. This way I just use my own when I go anywhere and I don’t get the migraines from scents I’m not used too

agreed... also lack of common sense, no empathy, and no manners or consideration for others, (and add pc'ness and censorship in this town and don't think outside the box or have a different view or use your brain you will be called names). Covid fustration hits everyone in different ways but no need for people to be mean. So when I find/meet nice people when out shopping I appreciate them.....And not being able to smile at people doesn't help. Maybe I'll get a mask with the open window so I can smile at people lol  
Using a cart or walker covers the arrows in some places so you can miss them easily. Good intention with them to keep people distancing though. But ya kinda harder for those with walking issues.

All people have to do is follow simple, straightforward instructions that are implemented to help protect everybody from infection, it isn’t hard!  
The problem is not the rules or guidelines, the problem is lack of discipline, lack of thought for others and a never ending sense of self entitlement that many people seem to possess.  
We are in a serious and worsening pandemic.

I agree with you Farmer George. You would think after a year of this people would know what to do but sadly they still don’t get it. The entitlement is ridiculous and across all ages. I see it daily at my job and it angers me. If you don’t want to follow the rules in stores, stay home. Get someone else to shop for you if need be. And above all, do not argue with or yell at the people working in those stores. They are just doing their jobs and trying to keep themselves and their customers safe

I use a walker myself and I sometimes miss the floor arrows as I'm looking at the shelves or the signs above the isles listing the foods etc. and my walker seat does block part of my view, If I catch myself going in the wrong direction, I will turn around. I can't speak for others but I don't do this intentional, I just have a 'oh crap' moment and turn around. I do appreciate when people are coming up behind me and let me know they are gonna pass. I'm guessing your mentioning self entitlement is those who don't care about the arrows? For me it's not a lack of dicipline or other things you and cj mentioned, there are times where walking is harder and slower but again if I miss a arrow direction its not intentional. I can't speak for others. Maybe a arrow higher up more at chest/eye level in a bright color would be seen more easily ?  
No staff should tolerate verbal abuse from customers. it's never ok to mistreat staff. They are lucky to have work and we are lucky to have stores open to shop. I try to always say thank you or take care to cashiers espc ones who know me as a shopper at their store. Kindness and respect can make someones day abit easier.

Seems like the rules that the government set in placed were never really that strongly enforced. But how can the regulations be enforced when some of the government do not follow their own regulations. Some places or smaller stores are trying their best to enforce the regulations. Have seen guards trying to enforce the regulations. Have seen some guards just sitting down not even look up as they are on their phone. Is there still covid enforcement people walking around Brandon as I haven’t seen any in a while. The regulations have been in place a long time they are not that hard to follow. I agree with the posts on here also. Yes some people make honest mistakes going down the aisle the wrong way or forget the mask in the car. But most people go get their mask or do turn around in the aisle or say sorry if someone is in the aisle and say I didn’t see the arrow. But a lot of people seem to be they don’t care attitude.

What is so difficult about glancing down for a second before entering an aisle? I am so tired of stupidity, selfishness, excuses and laziness.  
 
I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled for the tool walking the wrong way down the aisle with an open windowed mask grinning at everyone like the village idiot.

i do sometimes make the mistake of going down the wrong isle, for some people walking is difficult. Just because someone makes a mistake doesn't mean they never look at the arrows before entering a isle, I might be concentrating looking for something it's a honest mistake, again its not intentional. Oh and not to mention I'm making sure Im not in someones way or too close to them. Didn't think of that did you.  
And a walker can block your vision of the arrows breifly, it's not a excuse. What you don't know is that most of the time I do turn to see if I'm in the right direction, again mistakes happen. You make mistakes so stop casting stones.  
Nothing wrong with wanting to smile at people now and then.

Most of the stores I've entered have been doing pretty good in terms of covid etiquette. While the sanitization of surfaces is indeed important, we can't forget the fact that this is a respiratory illness primarily spread through the air.  
 
1.) Carts - Though it is indeed good that the handles are being done, I've NEVER trusted a cart handle. My hands have always been washed upon returning home after a shop.  
 
One benefit of carts being sprayed down with so much cleaner these days is less the handles than the basket itself. Things like E. coli and salmonella should be far less likely to transfer to your purchase.  
 
2.) Arrows - While some stores have them set up fairly well, others . . . you be the judge lol. And if you forget a can of soup which happens to be 20 feet behind you, there is little harm in taking a quick skip back (assuming the aisle is clear).  
 
As for staff . . . they have stuff to do. Stuff which they may not have time for if they have to take 40 or 50 extra steps just because they took an even-numbered aisle. 15 or 20 seconds multiplied many times by many people by many days is . . . a lot.  
 
While I get that the arrows are supposed to encourage distancing, the capacity limits do a better job of that. I mean, even with traffic flow, I've seen an aisle with 10 people in it at a store during a busy sale.  
 
3.) Masks - While most people do seem to be taking this seriously, masks below the nose and no mask- visor only are starting to be a common sight. And from what I understand, this seems to be an accepted form of protection in many places. Which I find bothersome.

I never follow the arrows shopping. Go where I need and want walk by people close. Cant live in fear time to open up like normal.

We are on the verge of a third wave everyone should be vigilante and follow restrictions.  
 
People are dying from this pandemic it is not a game, it is not a hoax, it is real and we should go back into lockdown sooner then later.

It is exactly this kind of ignorance and lack of concern for others that is already causing 3rd and even 4th waves of covid infection and millions more innocent people around the world will suffer and die needlessly, damage to the economy and people lives will be even greater.

If you want to see entitlement just go to the mall. From people not using sanitizer, not staying six feet apart and not wearing a mask properly, I see it every day. First thing people do is get a drink and then proceed to shop. I’ve never understood that. Why would you think it’s ok to take food/drink into a store? People walk right past the sign saying No Food/Drink in the Store and when you point it out they get mad at you. Happens almost every day. And most are quite rude about it. Then they walk down the hall with their masks off eating or drinking like it’s perfectly fine. And to the people that complain about having to use sanitizer to get into every store, sorry I don’t want to hear it. Sure it sucks but it’s a small price to pay to be able to shop for whatever you’re wanting that day. Just wear your mask and use the sanitizer

I'm mostly here with you on this opinion. I know there's no such thing as common sense but I like to attempt to use it. I will peek down the proper aisle that I am supposed to go down to get to where I need to to see if people are in it. If it's full, I will go the wrong way down the right aisle I need. It wouldn't make any sense to me to plow through an aisle full of people to get to the empty aisle I need.
