Do infants, toddlers and children count as part of the group? If my family of 5 want to meet Great Grandma at a park is this going to be acceptable?

If you want to spend time with great grandma and not break the rules, split up the family into 2 groups. Go somewhere like Rideau Park. One parent take half the kids on the play structures, while the other half visits great grandma. Then switch.
Make sure you bring hand sanitizer to keep great grandma safe.

This logic right here is so stupid. If we do that we might as well gather in groups of 10,20,30 etc.

It wouldn't be any different than meeting half one day and half the next day. And since OP's family is all from one household it wouldn't increase exposure. It's not like meeting 4 people from different households each visit.

That is the rule right now for a short time. The smart thing to do would be to not visit at all until everyone is fully vaccinated and covid case numbers become greatly reduced.

Um, no. If the 10 are *actually all from the same household* (private dwelling), it's okay to be together, inside/outside.

To suggest otherwise is highly ridiculous. It puts absolutely nobody at extra risk, as the family is living together.

Our family in our household is larger than 5. We will not be splitting up if we happen to go out for a walk. As I said, doing so would make no difference & make no sense.

But, this is not what the OP was asking in the first place.

If you have a family of 5 with one of them being an infant and you are visiting your granny go right ahead! Not like a cop is going to give you a ticket or that it would make a difference if say mom stayed home. Enjoy your visit

As said, 5 is 5. Infants and toddlers are not immune to contracting or spreading COVID-19. Splitting in to separate groups would also violate the public health orders.

Please avoid violating these orders, if you can manage. It's not worth it. Figure out a way to meet with granny in a way that doesn't violate the health orders.

sure the rule is clear...maximum 5. If you have a family of five that is your limit. If granny wants to see her grandkids then one parent can stay home. Do not listen to people giving the go ahead to break the rules as they sure won't be stepping up to pay your fine. Unless it comes from the province it is simply opinion.

If it’s one household just go to a park with a play structure or swings. Granny will love watching the kids play and they can take turns sitting with her and doing what grandchildren and grandparents do best. There are ways to safely love our families.

Right now the safe way to love others and show the proper care and respect for them is to stay away from meeting them in person and get everyone vaccinated.

If the group of 5 is going to the park and mingling with another person, I'm afraid that breaks the rules.

Really the simplest solution is to just have one member stay home. Do the right thing, and let's get out of this mess.

You’re looking for page 4 for gathering rules where it goes into the limit of five in an outdoor public place.

Please consider the spirit/intent of the rules when making your plans for these few weeks. They’re in place to severely limit our contacts, knowing that the more contacts the more Covid. The more Covid the more Hospitalizations. The more Hospitalizations the more ICU. Maybe someone’s seen a more specific answer but to me if there are plans that for example involve the inter-mingling between the same groups in that tight of a timeframe it’s in my interpretation pushing into the territory of going against what the rules are trying to accomplish and racking up contacts. If there are plans where one’s having to get creative to make them work, I’d be asking if they’re plans that can wait until the 30th when we’ll know if they have to look at extending. They’ve been averaging around 1% a day this month as far as newly vaccinated adult population with at least one shot. At that rate we should hit 50% this weekend and hopefully 60%+ by the end of the month if people keep doing their part. Once you see the number get into that territory we give them something to consider as far as whether there’s wide enough protection to re-evaluate what rules are in place... but best to watch for guidance on that since public health officials have the best handle on what's needed in the province (and perhaps from region-to-region) before next steps!

10 people adults and kids (not from same household I'm guessing as it's apts here) are playing volleyball in the grass court area between Greenwood/Ottawa Apts as I type this. A couple of people are wearing masks. Is this allowed? They are having alot of fun....

We drove through the Discovery Centre this afternoon and unbelievably there were around a hundred people most of who were shoulder to shoulder and not a one was wearing a mask !! Seemed most were from some teen youth group.
And that is why we will never get ahead of the variantes that keep mutating. They we get stronger until the vaccines will no longer be effective.

Come on people grow some kind of a brian.

Also seen a few people in the Walmart lineup not wearing masks , they said they didn't have to have them on until they entered the store
