Millions of people dead and sick from covid. Many more Millions thought to be dead around the world but not counted in official covid figures.
People in poor countries unable to access even basic care let alone ICU’s and unable to access vaccines.
An economy shattered and left in the tank, businesses closing, people left jobless. Inflation right around the corner which will have to be controlled with higher interest rates causing more bankruptcies, joblessness and loss of livelihoods and homes.
It isn’t black and white, it’s a total disaster and could have largely been prevented. Yet people still gather, still travel. Planes still fly and new variants emerge and spread around to different countries, they will soon be here and will be harboured in the virul reservoir created by those unvaccinated. And the cycle of sickness, suffering and pain will continue because we won’t face reality and do what is necessary to eradicate a virus that kills.
