Odds are, in an apples to apples comparison, company A that offers "free" delivery has a slightly higher item price total than company B that doesn't offer "free" delivery instead opting to try to entice the customer with a lower price but then having to deal with delivery after the fact.
I really hate it when people say we have free healthcare in canada, no we don't, its just baked into the yearly income taxes we pay, I seem to remember reading a stat like its 50% or so.
