We are trying to sort out which courier service provides delivery service to rural residences. A couple of questions: Are there any couriers that deliver to rural residences? If so, what delivery address do we use - post office box or civic address?

I have never heard of any companies that do that. I’ll watch this to see if there is one.

Also interested if you find one. We get all of our parcels delivered to a family member in the city

Same as above, have not found any courier who would deliver to a rural address.

Couriers do not deliver to rural address here or to private addresses in our town . Our only option is to have delivered to the nearest purolator depot which happens to be in a store in the local town.  
The other and preferred delivery method is by mail to the local post office, they leave a notification card in our mail box so that we can collect at our leisure. Many retailers ( usually high street names) refuse to deliver using this simple and easy method and some favour selected couriers that are not available here restricting our options.  
The system to serve rural areas is archaic and outdated.

I guess it depends how far out you are. We are a few minutes west of town just off Grand valley Rd. Fedex will deliver to us. But it's true there are other carriers who won't. It helps that when you put our address (blue 911 number and street name) into Google maps it accurately identifies where we are.

I’ve had purolator, fedex, dhl all come to my house. I put my box number and blue number at the end of my lane on shipping and I’ve never had an issue

Thanks for replies re parcel delivery to rural residences. one complication appears to be the delivery address. We have found several online sites will not accept PO boxes or civic addresses. When that happens we use a Canada Post office address. Recently even that failed when the Canada Post office sent the package back saying that it was 'undeliverable'. Delivery spots in small towns seem to work, so another complication appears to be finding a delivery address in Brandon. We do not have relatives living in Brandon and I do not want to ask a friend to take delivery.

When I order online I use civic address as most couriers don’t accept box numbers.  
 
Even so, parcels arrive at post office. I therefore substitute “Unit” for box.  
 
Doesn’t directly answer your question. I live on edge of town but have been denied delivery if “box” appeared anywhere.

had puralator or fedex. deliver. I live in a rural area. The best solution, I think, is to create Flex account with Canada Post. You will still have to go into Brandon to pick parcels up, but at least you’ll get them. You can use either of the Shoppers in Brandon. Use their address when you place online orders and parcels will ship to Shoppers and you pick up.

don’t know where they are past the city limits of Brandon and/or can’t be bothered. Your address is incorrect, your driveway is inaccessible…..every excuse under the sun. Do the Canada Post Flex. Just register online on CP website.

that cover rural areas North, south, east and west of Brandon. ASL is not one of them. MNC is a good choice, as well as Fed Ex and Puralator. The problem is, whomever you are purchasing from online, most of them choose the shipper. Customer has no choice, depending on companies. You’ll have to ask the company specifically.

I order a lot of parcels from Amazon Canada. As long as the parcel is being shipped by Amazon it gets picked up by ASL and shipped to my rural home. I live near Shilo on the 340 Highway  
 
I just give directions from the closest highway intersection also giving a brief description of my fence and yard along with my blue EMS address number. They called me once to confirm and now faithfully deliver here.. they do not have a brandon pick up location or so I'm told so they definitely make the effort to deliver.

Next to be eliminated by ASL. Enjoy it while it lasts.
