The federal government promised a $500. payment to seniors over the age of 75 to be paid out the week of August 16th.  
Just wondering if anyone has received theirs yet ?

That $500 payment was in August 2021. In July 2022 the monthly OAS went up $110 or some such amount. No lump sum payment this year.

The 2021 payment was made the week of August 16,2021.  
I now believe that the 2022 $500. bonus will be added to the  
regular month end payment. Sorry for the confusion.

Provide some reference where you are getting your info about another $500 payment in 2022. Everything i have read states that the kne ti.e payment was I August 2021 and then in July 2022 the monthly amount was to increase by 10%. I ha e found nothing that mentions another $500 payment this year. So, curious to know where you heard of it.

I would like to know why seniors 75 plus only get these increases? What about the rest of the seniors!

That’s what the Liberal government decided that only those seniors 75 and older should receive the yearly increase of $500.00  
It was argued about in parliament by other parties but the Liberal got their way.

the fact that the over 75's would have had less earnings, therefore less pension contributions, means they have less of an income. Add to that they are more likely to have greater medical expenses, our bodies wear out more as we get older.  
Then factor in utility and housing costs as a percentage of disposable income and the picture changes somewhat.  
Not saying it applies to all over75's but many will appreciate the extra funds.
