My cousin actually signed up for a sewing class just to meet new people and it was a great success for them. Any interests you have could be pursued possibly through a local club or group, such as cameras, fitness classes (yoga, crossfit, etc), baking, computers, etc. I would check websites to see who has classes for fall/winter season and what might be of interest.
