Hi everyone, I’m somewhat new to town and looking to make some new friends. Just wondering if there are any sort of clubs or classes or anything around town or nearby that anyone knows about? Or even if anybody just wants to meet up and hang out. I’m 31, and love outdoor activities, like paddleboarding, rollerblading, photography, electric skateboarding, learning, exploring new places, etc. I’m also a YMCA member, if anyone wants to go to the pool or something. Thanks in advance to anyone who can give me some advice!

1. Every Thursday, the Brandon Sun prints a section called "Let's Do Something" which i:ncludes a variety of upcoming events.  
 
2. Chez Angela Bakery and Cafe offers a variety of events most week nights. (board games, French, etc)  
 
Brandon can be very quiet on the weekends in the summer because of the proximity of lakes and camping areas, but a lot of the smaller towns in the area have summer festivals, and rodeos.  
 
During the Fall and Winter, the Evans Theatre at Brandon University is volunteer run and shows a variety of indie films, they are often looking for volunteers, too.

Welcome to Brandon! My suggestion is to follow the facebook page for Chez Angela bakery. They are a very welcoming and friendly event-centered local business. They host game nights, knitting nights, chess nights, jazz and more. Follow their page and you'll get a good feel for what Brandon has to offer.  
 
Souris has paddle nights. Kayaking/canoeing. Look up "River Rats Souris."

I am part of a club called Summit Toastmasters and we are always looking for new members. You get to work on speaking, leadership, communication skills, but also ones that most don't realize about but listening, relationship building, organizational skills as well. We are a fun group and we meet every Thursday at 7 am to 8:20 am.  
 
Meet some new people and get to improve on yourself at the same time. If interested I have attached our poster in to this chat if you are interested or if you want to come check out a meeting before joining that can be arranged as well.
