McDonalds, Tim Horton are open 24-7
Other restaurants are Smitty's, Chalet Restaurant (very good breakfast), Subway, KFC, Pizza Hut, Brown's Deli , Boston Pizza, Kokanos Steakhouse, a Paneras type restaurant beside Subway, and Humpty's.
There is also the Husky Restaurant if someone would lease it and open it up again.
I may have missed some. Do we really need another up there on the Highway. I think not.
I did miss one A&W it has breakfast too.

I dont think anyone was serious about Costco. It's more the thing some post to try to be funny when there's a new development. Conspicuous by absence in that vein are Red Lobster/Olive Garden... (uh oh )

Less a casino than a sort of shed with VLTs. But I think that would be the hot potato of hot potatoes to be allowed at that site and not somewhere else within an ~1km radius
Your points re restaurants make sense. Also not sure another restaurant could be described as complimentary to other businesses in that area?

I would be happy if Costco came here with only food. I’m sure pretty much everyone goes to Costco for the food. If you want the electronics, clothes etc then go to the city. Just my opinion

Lot of passionate thoughts and ideas on that one I'm thinking, but better off in its own thread since that's def not what'll be at this spot!

I was thinking of the biggest chains that aren’t in Brandon and Krispy Kreme and Chic-fil-a were near the top of the list. There’s already a doughnut “shop” at Tim’s and a chicken joint at KFC but either or could do well there

A chance here if my read of it "complementing area businesses" is wrong and it’s a restaurant. In process of building out in Winnipeg for a return there, and fits with "a comin." Winnipeg's will be in same Tuxedo development as their St Louis Bar and Grill. Maybe they're both a comin :)

Shelbys or Osmows would be a nice addition. However, maybe within Brandon would work better.

St.louis bar and grill makes sense.. hopefully there is enough traffic for it.

Another prob low probability in this case, but just when going through the list of food places that you'd have to think will eventually make its way to the city... Firehouse Subs. Just starting to push into Western Canada (Winnipeg recently). Restaurant Brands didnt pay the big bucks for it to sit on it!

If it’s some place that will cause heads to turn, Chic Fil A wouldn’t be out of the question. They’re starting to open locations in Canada and with Brandon being known for chains testing the market, it’s more possible than Olive Garden or Red Lobster at this point.

Lesser expect to see Krispy Kreme, Firehouse Subs, or Carl’s Jr

Seems like all the projects mentioned last fall are fizzling out just like the old Mckenzie Seeds building was talked about as a done deal, now it's not going to happen.
Then there is the Brandon Sun Bldg also. Can:t see anything happening there either.
It's easy to talk big but another thing to impleiment action

Just because one cannot see or do not know things is not reality. Some of the developments are private business developments which benefits community but not necessarily individuals. Talking about big things needs vision and courage but things sometimes might not align as predicted. It is natural across the country and historically.
