Am in kinda disbelief at the cost of grabbing a quick bite to eat  
Picked up a Papa burger, cubby chicken, and an order of onion rings  
$ 25.00 YIKES. Won’t do that again!  
Feel sorry for families

We to has a family have stopped eating out. I got a coupon from a subpar fast food chain few weeks ago and they have 2 can dine for $18. I laughed. I remember that same coupon being 2 can dine for $12 not so long ago.  
 
Hopefully as fast food chains learn the hard way. I know down the the states people have a boycott on certain fast food chains.

I agree eating out is now a luxury. We tend to now stop for an ice cream cone rather than a meal. Other things we have given up to pay for gas and groceries i:nclude haircuts at the salon, new clothes (but thrift shops have got too expensive, sometimes new is cheaper), trips to other communities for a Sunday drive and brand name products and trips to movies or entertainment out. More gas tax coming soon!!!  
 
Curious what other people are doing to save money?

Their food prices are insane even with the coupon they mail out

Cooking more ourselves last time was 27.00 for 2 burgers & fries - no drinks just crazy. Buy few groceries for that make our own. We shop by sales whenever we can.  
Cut back on coffee stops too. When we added up fast food ,coffee etc for a month it was surprising how it adds up. Also stopped salon haircuts almost back to COVID days,.  
Gave up cable bought Roku box for TV , saved over 100.00 month do not miss all those channels. Stream all the news etc on computer. Just simplified our lives in some ways.  
Gas is something we have no choice but opt for 3 cents off stations with different bank cards, and now Safeway gave coupons for cents off not sure how long that will last.  
The other thing I found was ridiculous is all the “tipping” for everything everywhere I was going and the % .

Any time I go for fast food I either go when I know a place has coupons, know what day places habe deals like taco Tuesday or whopper Wednesday. Or just go to dq $8 burger meal deal

The way it’s going we will all be buying canned food at the dollar store soon. Fast food and grocery prices are out of reach now for a lot of people. We can’t afford to eat and we can’t get a hospital bed what’s next? These were  
supposed to be the golden years for seniors like me. Very depressing.

Big chain prices are so high now that I prefer supporting the local businesses instead. Even if it's a small amount extra to do so.
