Know your Bin!

Looking at the bins sitting in the back yard yesterday, and thought that something needs to be done to them.
After all, they look just like the neighbours bins.
The column in the Sun, Grants Tomb, came to mind. It was about painting or stenciling the bins to help you know which is yours when you go to retrieve them from that long line down the alley.
Sounds like a good idea, and could make for some interesting art work. Anyone know if it is legal, and have some ideas to use on the bins?
