Moving to Brandon, MB this summer

Good afternoon guys.
I am currently in Chicago, IL and I am finishing up my long years of training as a specialist physician. I also am a Canadian immigrant which was recently given to me by the consulate general.
I applied for a job in Brandon, MB to work for the Diagnostic services of Manitoba. It seems during the telephone interview that they like me and I feel strongly about this group too. I have other interviews coming up like in Nova Scotia and Regina, SK, but I feel that Brandon, MB can offer more as a city.
My questions are:
1. Where is the best part of the city to live? I plan to live close to the hospital and/or a gym and I plan to buy a condo.
2. Is there a part of the city that has a higher crime rate than usual? Similar to Chicago where the south part of the city has most of homicides.
