Parking Ticket

So I had a Question...Has anyone ever recieved a parking ticket for having your car parked on the street for more then 48 hours in a residential area?...I recently recieved a ticket for $40 if I pay in the first 7 days then $80 if I pay 8-15 days then after that $120 for parking for more then 48 hours on the street in front of my house?
Also wondering if anyone has fought this type of ticket in court?
