Friendly Manitoba ???? #$$%@$#$ ( just wanna fit in )
4/7/2009 at 11:42 AM
My wife says I am hooked on Ebrandon, I log on everyday for many reasons. One reason is that it is entertaining reading. Mostly I am trying to understand this breed Manitoban, mostly Brandonians, if I may call them that.
We moved from Alberta about a year ago, the process started about 5 years ago when we came out to visit and we fell in love with the country. Not so much with the city Brandon – no offence, but with the country.
Last year my wife , two kids and two dogs moved to Brandon , I still live out of my suit case so me and my two dogs ( yes total of four at the house) are back and fourth between here and Alberta.
OK now that introductions are done. Let me say this For the most part everyone is friendly but seems like not community friendly more like polite friendly , not genuine Please let me know is this something I need to get used to here in Brandon / Manitoba or is it just the few people I happened to run into?
Exmaple 1 and I have many more
First two weeks of winter in Brandon animal services paid us a visit someone complained that our doges don’t have enough shelter and there is to much crap in our yard. To me that say a few things one is that I have nosy neighbors who have no problem looking over or through the fence and yet are to timid to introduce them selves. Two is that they are trouble makers because instead of talk to me or making contact their welcome was trying to get me in S_ _ _ with your local welcome committee.
Just so you know MR / MRS not sure who you are the inspector came over found out that there is a heater and a remote thermostat installed in the dog house that you forgot to mention , and the crap in the dog run is actually a carpet that I change out every few weeks.
Today the same inspector came over saying that there have been numerous complaints that our dog is out of the house (dog at large). He stated my address and dog and added that they said he was very friendly – again this tells me a few things one is that someone has been in contact with my dog many of times. Two is that they got close enough to him to see his name and address and phone number on his tag> Three – What is wrong with you people????
Call me , talk to me what ever … do you like this society that we live in that has 10,000 rules , you know this is how we empower the government to treat us like sheep. OK OK may be I am taking this personally But here is another point of view, this dog is out there running around being a nuisance, what ever. He runs in front of a car and cases an accident kills someone. I am glad you felt that you did your part by just calling animal services.
Love to hear from you all or let the lynch mode begin
its my first posting so if it offends anyone I am sorry
