I agree about the mess

There is alot more garbage around Brandon that needs to be picked up. I walk with my children almost everyday and have noticed the increase in all the garbage. But what can we do about it? Other than clean it up? So to have the city hire more people to be picking up the garbage would then mean an increase for us. I would rather do my part and just clean it up and hope to set an example to others than to constantly discuss it with no results. I also put both of my cans out once a week. The recycling one is always almost full and the garbage one is almost empty. I remember in school being taught to reduce, reuse and recycle. I have a ten year old that I had to teach what can and can't be recycled and what's trash. Maybe teaching children in schools about the importance of cleaning up the community would be positive thing because if there excercising this at home maybe the parents will realize this as important. This could cut down on the garbage cans being over filled. My ten year old and I are taking to the streets in the next couple of weeks to start cleaning. If I can keep my home and yard clean than I can help to keep the community clean. I know..I don't like cleaning other peoples messes to..but I feel good to know that at least I did something to help with the problem, even if I have to do it over and over again. I would rather have my children learn by example to help sustain the environment by cleaning it up and doing my part than to sit and talk about it. The new garbage bins will take adjusting to but we're all human and unfortunately we were made to adjust no matter how much we dislike something.
