Telemarketing Scam
8/10/2009 at 11:29 AM
I got a call from a company that refused to identify themselves. They claimed to offer a better rate than your current credit card company. Only problem is, I don't have a credit card. Consumer beware, I asked to speak to a supervisor,to be put on their do not call list. By the way, that is now law. They hung up on me. Brandon residents beware, this is a credit card number fishing expedtion. If you see telephone number 1-408-0587-2129, request to be put on their do not call list, don't give out your credit card number. Then call phonebusters at 1-888-495-8501. You can also file a complaint with the Canadian Direct Marketing Association. All telemarketing companies must leave a return number so you can call them. If you have doubts, hang up and try to call them back. If you can't, then they are not a reputable company. These organizations feed on elederly and handicap people. It makes me sick that they prey on vulnerable people, for profit.
