How do you get gasoline out of carpet in your vehicle
8/22/2009 at 12:36 AM
Does anyone have any ideas? I had a jerry(?) can of gasoline in the back of my SUV when I had to suddenly stop for a deer that was crossing the road. Needless to say the can fell over and leaked all over the cargo area and under the middle row seats. There is about 10 litres of gas in the carpet. So far I have blotted it with paper towels and febreezed the heck out of it. Left windows open for the night. Is there anything else that I can do? It smells awful in my SUV. Should I go through autopac? Any suggestions that have been tried and was successful would be good. I have grey carpet if that helps. I have heard of cat litter and coffee grounds.
Thanks.
