Eviction for calling the police
8/25/2009 at 1:08 PM
Someone dear to me lives in an apartment building in Brandon. Unfortunately, she lives with an abusive spouse, much to my dismay.
When they moved in they were told that if the police were to be called, that it would lead to an eviction.
The police have been called a couple times, which I have told her to do, as I worry about what could be happening to her. She has not called the them a few times for fear of being evicted.
Now, as of late, they were called again, and the caretakers have given her a warning that she will be evicted, if it happens again. It was a very scary warning for her, as I guess she was being yelled at(by a man no less, once again).
My question is .........is this even viable? Are they able to do that?
I know lots will say well she should leave him, and trust me i feel the same, but when your in a relationship like that it's hard to understand what they are going through.
I worry about her safety and if she can't call the cops.......welll?????????
