Smart bread?

My daughter wanted to try Dempsters "smart bread" so today at Safeway we had a look. OMG its $3.99, what family can afford a loaf of bread that is almost $4, and would be eaten in 2 days. So we stuck to our usual Whole Wheat. Man, is it just me or is grocery shopping becoming really expensive?
