Daycare need?

We are looking at moving back to Brandon on December 1st into a house 1 block from Riverheights school. I am just wondering if there is a need for daycare in this area?
I plan to go through licensing in the next year or so but for now am only wanting to do private care until we are settled and back on our feet. Is there a still a shortage of daycare or am I looking at the wrong business?
