Zoo in Brandon

Has anyone else ever wondered why Brandon does not have a zoo?
The town that I grew up in, in Manitoba, is much smaller and even it has a zoo. I just think that on days when the kids are bored it would be nice to go for a walk around a zoo.
Has there ever been any talk about building one?
