Rude Restaurant Owner
11/7/2009 at 3:07 PM
I went out for brunch today with friends (I'm not going to name the restaurant), and I wasn't happy with my chicken burger (I've been a server for many years, and to me, onions don't belong on a chicken burger)....my mistake b/c I read in the menu that it came with onions and I forgot to say "No onions".....when the server finally came over to check on us...I told her that it was my fault for not saying no onions but I didn't expect my burger to taste like straight onions (I'd picked them off before eating it)...and that I didn't expect for the overdone chicken burger to taste like just onions. She (the server) told me then that "They probably wont do anything because it says in the menu it comes with onions"...
I went to go pay for a couple of the meals, I didn't expect for them to comp my entire meal, but at least 10% off?! Or a free drink or something....that's what I would have done. At the till I was dealing with the owner, and when she told me the total, I asked her, you're not going to do anything about discount?? SHE then said to me, "Next time I suggest you reading the menu and ordering something else!"...to which I replied, "No, I suggest I just wont eat here again."....
Anyone else ever encounter a rude restaurant owner?? Or perhaps manager?? Every place I've worked, the manager or owner tries to make the customer happy. I wasn't rude until I said I wasn't going to eat there again.....but I can't be the only one who has ever encountered a rude owner...or am i?
