Here's Something to Think About
6/30/2010 at 12:26 AM
Saturday afternoon I was travelling north on the bike path on 18th street and a guy came straight at me, I had to ditch into the bushes to avoid having a collision with him. I did raise my voice and express my concerns although he was still riding in the other direction, with headphones on. He did indicate by his head gestures that I was on the wrong side of the path. In hindsite, I wished I had extended my elbow and leveled his playing feild however, I did not.
Tonight while riding in the same area and while giving way to a young Mother and her child I couldn't help but notice the child was facinated with the enormity of her surroundings (approx 3 years old). As I got closer I spoke to the girls Mother and said "Everything is so huge to her". It became immediately appearent she could not understand what I had said. So I said "You speak Spanish"? She noded her head yes. I pointed toward the child and said "For her everything is Grande" she smiled and nodded her head yes again and Spoke "Very Well" commenting on my spanish, we passed and continued on in seperate directions. Wow what a marked difference from one day to the next. To the individual that tried to run me off the path, yup I got upset regarding your ignorance but, not gonna give you space in my head beyond this post. you'll get yours pal, your disregard for your fellow man will catch up to you. To the young Lady and her Daughter, (and I'm assuming you are recent immigrants) WELCOME TO OUR COUNTRY, may you and your family enjoy every privelige and exercise every right given you. Please don't end up like the guy I just described.
