pets........and landlords

I live in a "townhouse" and we are all told to get rid of our pets (cats,hamsters,rabbits,etc) but the "caretakers" who live in the "office" house owned by the same people of the townhouse's have a dog.......should they not have to get rid of their dog????? since our pets have to leave too
