I'm looking at finishing my basement floor. Aside from the normal can of battleship grey concrete floor paint I'm looking at doing something really different like an acid etch or perhaps some stain. Similar to the way the floor looks inside the new CanadInns.  
 
Question: Are there any do-it-yourselfers out there that can comment on techniques or products? Any lessons learned you want to share? Any advise at all would be appreciated.
