As some of you may know, we are having daughter #2's boyfriend up for the long weekend from Minnesota - although he is a Brandon boy and rooms with another local Bdn. boy, they also room with 2 boys from Florida. They are all on football scholarships and all taking law enforcement studies. They are really great kids. One of the Florida boys is staying with us. He's never been to Canada and was excited to visit.  
 
They went to the Wheaties games last night so he could see his first hockey game - he was extremely impressed and had a load of fun at the game. Unfortunately, he comes from a background where money is tight and he doesn't have a dime on him. The boys eat only what they can afford - the Brandon kids are luckier than most as their parents supply them with some food money. The kids from Fla. count on food stamps for food.  
 
Anyway, Tyrell went absolutely wild for Kuipers Bread.  
He wants it with every meal...breakfast, dinner and lunch. He is crazy for it.  
 
We want to sent the boys back with something, so for sure we are buying 4 - 5 loaves of Kuipers white sliced sandwich loaves so they may freeze it. (they eat a ton of sandwiches). I will also include a honking pack of those huge decadent cinny buns that Kuipers has.  
 
I just feel so sorry for the boy.  
What are other suggestions for us to give the kids to take back with them? Their housing at the State College is similar to PMQ's at Shilo...but they do not have the luxury of a vehicle and the walking distance to stores is removed (kind of like being housed at ACC here - out in the boonies)  
 
Tyrell is so impressed with Brandon that he would love to come to school here someday as he said the States is not all cracked up to what we think.  
 
I just want to send tham all back happy and healthy.
