I was sitting around last night with three friends, sipping Dandelion Wine, playing one handed Scrabble when the topic focused on the dandelion situation in Brandon. It was with unanimous agreement that we should hold a Dandelion Flower Festival/Show. This could work if all entrants took pictures of their, or a neighbours crop and bring them to City Hall for Judging. There could be catagories like, Residential, Commercial, Industrial and Educational facilities. We could engage families in this Stupendous by having compitions of dandelion necklace making in the Park with music and three legged races ect. For the adults, we could meet at Clancy’s for some Social Intercourse and Home Made Dandelion Wine tasting. We could give prizes like floral arrangements picked by members of the Hornycultural Societies in Town. I will even donate an 8 X 10 picture of myself from ebrandon and I am sure Madam Bright Spark would reciprocate in an equal manner, (Cos we all want the early B & W picture when she was in her prime). My hidden agenda in all this excitement is to forward all these wonderful yellow pictures, (did I mention that Yellow is my favourite colour?) to Dublin Ireland and be awarded the title “Brandon the Dandelion Capital of the World.
