Is Souris a nice place to live?

We should be landing in Brandon on the 11th(Just waiting for paper work to be posted).
I am going to be working in Brandon, but wanted to live just outside of the city, say 30 minutes. We have seen a few houses in Souris and wanted to know what is it like to live, school and play hockey there.
