Food for thought...

Just putting this out there to see what the rest of the community thinks about the concerns of our future housing and other issues in Brandon.
It has come about that I have heard that there could be up to or more than 300-400 spouses & children of working immigrants coming to our city by January of 2008. This will drastically have an impact on our community in a lot of aspects such as:
Housing Issues
Education System
Employment Services
Language Barriers
This is only 4 of many more aspects that will be affected by the growing amount of immigrants coming to the city.
I have not seen anything come from the direction of the City in regards to how these issues will be addressed or looked at. I don't know about anyone else, but I only see red flags popping up when I think of this.
What are your thoughts on this issue?? The community of Brandon needs to finally stand up and shout their concerns to the pork production plant and to the city officials. This is not just a thought...this is happening today and tomorrow.
Just my own little opinion, and looking for some support on this issue. We need to take in mind all of the issues that are being overlooked with those that already live here and have always lived here and need the assistance first hand as being Canadians-Manitobans and Brandonites.
This is not meant to be taken as a verbal attack on anyone, but better yet at trying to address the issues of what is not being done. And working as a community to come up with some positive strategies for the future development of needs within this city.
