Jumbo Ambulance
6/22/2007 at 7:39 PM
The city of Calgary has moved to help with the transportation of obese patients with the introduction of a new Ambulance that can carry people who weigh up to 454 kilograms or 1,000 pounds. The modification of this Ambulance cost $30,000, which includes an Airbag that can be inflated beneath the patient allowing easy transfer to a wider stretcher. It also has a remote lift to gently raise the stretcher into the Ambulance. This Ambulance has specially trained paramedics with it to deal with obese patients. The Calgary Emergency Medical Services encourages everyone to call 911 regardless as to how much they weigh. Do we have enough Obese infirm citizens in Brandon to require a similar service?
