Brandon/Canada in General: Quality of life, well being, houses?
7/15/2007 at 4:58 PM
What do you thing about Brandon (and nation-wide) quality of life and it's changes in the past years?
ith house prices rising at a record rate, and we now seem to be gaining economically with construction and business growth. Are you better off now or a few years ago with your personal income and happiness in this City or if you are from elsewhere, what is it like there?
Is your pay keeping pace with what seems to be astonomical rising prices on housing, gas and inflation?
Do you think we are still in a depressive economic state in Manitoba or are we starting to become another place where growth is outpacing income?
Are people now wrestling with so much debt that it's getting harder to maintain a normal lifestyle with what people wish to own?
With starter houses that are need a lot of work going for $100,000 plus and car payments as well as debtload, are we able to keep up in general?
It's an interesting subject...I know with Maple Leaf in Brandon, they are snapping up homes, duplexes and apartments left, right and centre and it has been difficult for young home buyers to get that home.
I cannot imagine how my children will ever be able to afford a home. It seemed a lot easier when I was at their age.
What are your opinions on the way the economy has gone in Brandon or elsewhere where homes are reaching crazy prices?
