Out with the Beaubier, in with the YMCA

I see in tonoght's paper the city is going to spend $600,000 to buy the Beaubier, up to $162,000 from the Renaissance-we're-not-the-BIA (say, weren't they going to use that quarter million to 'leverage' more funds?) to demolish it, and then kick in $5 million to ypgrade the Y. I don't remember anyone asking me about this is how I wanted my tax dollars/tax increase spent.
The Brandon Sun was commending them on their speed of action. Little too fast, IMO
