Been there, done that. I had a house fire when my children were small, and it is devastating. Thankfully, I had some great friends, family and neighbours that helped me out in the short term. Please, if you are going to donate don't just dump off a bunch of items. Ask the family what they need. I had some great help, but I also had three truckloads of items that were of no use to me. Dont get me wrong, I appreciated the sentiment, but having to sort through so much stuff that was no use to me was not helpful. Please listen to the Op and don't bombard the family with items they don't need.  
 
Do we know if the family had insurance?

So very thankful to hear nobody was hurt, does that include pets? Losing a loved family pet to this tragedy would make it that much worse

I've seen a lot of questions about how to help the gentleman from the second house, and no response. I understand that the children are likely scared and that this is a lot of pressure on the family moving, but there were 2 fires, 2 homes were lost and I would really like to hear some information on the 2nd homeowner and what assistance he needs as well.

Seen on twitter that a Brandon Sun reporter tweeted that the cause was an electrical failure in air conditioning unit.

This has been a very difficult week for us all, and although I'm  
Not one for a lot of attention I feel the need to come forward and thank the community for the overwhelming offers of help, whether it be through texts, calls, cards, donations or just knowing that people are thinking of us.  
This has been a trying time, not only for my family but for all involved and I hope that this great community has shown as much care and kindness to everyone involved in this accident as they have toward us.  
 
I am glad the Fire Dept. has found the true cause of the fire, which was in fact faulty wiring in the Air Conditioner so we all now can get back to picking up the pieces and move forward.  
We have appreciated everything done for us, and hope to give back to the community.  
 
If anybody knows of a family in need please contact one of the names listed in this post and we will pass on anything we have.

I don't live in Bdn anymore but know the area the fires were in. What I also saw, was that even though you put the question out there for all to see, you have still not received an answer. Does no one in Bdn care or want to know what the second home owner needs. Even if he has insurance there are always things that are needed right away and the insurance companies don't always get back to their client as soon as the incident has occurred. I too, would like to know if he is in need of items, or does he have access to funds to get whatever he needs.?

I'm beginning to wonder. Between 2 jobs I haven't had the time to do the diligence I need to get some information. I'm looking into it AGAIN tonight. Breaks my heart that it seems this poor man is being neglected/forgotten when he's lost everything.

is not one for fanfare and has insurance. I believe all his needs have been taken care of and is not wanting for anything. I am pretty sure he appreciates your compassion.
